Whats going to happen to America?

I am worried about the outcome of America, the times have changed, and a new era is coming. Has the time come when yet another great nation falls.
We use to be a free country, we could go to the beach at any hour of the day or night. We could fly to other cities spontaneously just to get away. We had the freedom of speech to share our beliefs with others. So many laws, so many taxes, no legitimate representation any more, politions have there own agenda. Now what happens?

Life as I know it

I like to go and get a manicure and or a pedicure sometimes, I go to different shops because I get these spur of the moments cravings for it. The thing that bothers me the most is when I go into a shop and sign in, I'll ask," how long do I have to wait, and the answer is almost always " 15 minutes" the problem is after years of experience I know that 15 minutes is really 45 minutes to an hour. I hate that, why can't these manicurists just tell the truth, why is it that they have to insult my intelligence by lying to me. I have never once in 25 years just waited 15 minutes, now I must admit that there are times that I get seen right away, but... If I have to wait, then it's always "just 15 minutes.

Gotta love this job

I was at work the other night and an inmate came up to me during sick call, he complained that his lips has been chapped for over a week, and now they were burning him, and in the morning yellow crust would be on his lips.
I noticed that his mouth was really shiny and I asked him what was he putting on his lips now, he said " I have this antibotic ointment I have been using for it" I asked him to being me the ointment, he went back to his cell, while in the meantime I look in his chart. When he came back a few minutes later, he handed me the packets he had of the antibiotic I read the ingredients, I asked him if he had a allergies, and he said he was allergic to sulfur, I showed him the ingredients on the packet, and told him that he was having an allergic reaction, the antibotic cream has sulfate in it. He looked at me, and replied" Your not not kidding", I advised him to read the labels before he applied anything anymore. I saw him 2 days later, and I asked him how he was, " ALOT BETTER" your my favorite nurse. I looked at him and replied" I bet you say that to all the girls!" he laughed and went back into his cell. Another good day...

The blahs!

Now that the cold spell is over, and the holidays are gone, I notice people around me all have bad attitudes and sour pusses..... What happen to the brotherly love?
The deputies are not smiling and laughing lately, Damn, we should all be happy for just having a job to go to with todays economy.
Politics are the hot topics on all the radion waves. Obama, Harry Reid, Michelle Obama, the TV host Jay Leno has a lot of material to work with.

How bout that Tiger Woods? and what about Global Warning! Facebook is the rage, I love it, I keep in close daily contact it all my contacts on a daily basis, it has made America a community again, I just love it. I started back to school again this semester, and working all night at the jail. keeps me busy and I enjoy the fast past, but... not the pressure during the exam crunch. I was told that going to school inconvences my family life. Oh well, I'm 52 years old, your all grown, get your own lives...

Sometimes people come in that are called high profile, meaning that the word of the crime is in the news and everyone knows about it. Depending on the crime, it's sad when you know someone your dealing with molested children, especially when it's the childrens own parents.
You wonder what the hell is wrong with these parents,

Intake and screening

I got assigned to medical intake this month again, oh GOSH! this is the busiest area of the jail, when new people or the regulars come into the facility when they are first arrested.
Man can woman cry.... and cry.... get mad, then cry again.
there is a long medical history you have to try and record from new arrestees.
Have you evey tried to get information from an intoxicated or high person, that's alot of fun.

One night last year a man came into the sallyport (intake area) I was asked to assess his dog bite wounds, he was angry, he was hostile, not a happy camper because a police dog bit him, the police had took him to the hospital emergency room prior to bringing him to the jail. I asked if I could take a look at the wounds. He was still angry, I looked at him and smiled. " Are you retarded?" no why? he replied, I looked at him and said " you were running from the dogs? Dude you have 2 legs, the dog has 4 legs, Yeah he said but " It took him a long time catch me!"

Sometimes you just gotta love this job!
